Years ago on the System/38, I started writing an early version of the SBMJOBALT command simply because it annoyed me that I couldn't prompt its Request Data (RQSDTA) parameter. Apparently, the developers at IBM found this frustrating too, because when the AS/400 was released, the SBMJOB command had a new parameter named CMD that allowed prompting.
