MKS, Inc., introduces a faster and more simplified process for deploying iSeries and cross-platform applications in Implementer 5.5, the latest release of its software-configuration management product. The improvement is due to tighter integration between Implementer and MKS Integrity Manager, the company’s process and workflow management solution, to provide a departmental, role-appropriate user interface that lets quality-assurance and IT staff launch software version promotions or other activities from a browser, GUI, or command-line interface. The new release of Implementer features enhanced support for WebSphere Developer Studio client for iSeries, improved SQL stored-procedure support, greater control over multiple development paths, and impact-analysis features to protect application quality.
In conjunction with the Implementer upgrade, MKS also releases MKS Integrity Solution 4.6, of which Implementer is a core ingredient. Release 4.6 not only includes Implementer 5.5, but also integrates Integrity Solution with Computer Associates’ ( http://www.ca.com ) AllFusion Endevor Change Manager, which facilitates change and configuration of multiplatform projects that include the zSeries.
MKS Integrity Solution 4.6 includes new process templates for iterative and waterfall development methodologies, customizable presentation templates that let users customize change requests forms and screens, and GUI enhancements that give project managers better information about project status. In addition, the new version provides an open API that helps developers integrate MKS Integrity Manager with other applications, tools, and interactive development environments.
